Perfect golden brown, crispy skinned air fryer frozen dumplings are the perfect side dish. Making them in the air fryer is the easiest way to achieve crispy perfection without the mess of deep frying.
Take out is not easy in our house due to severe food allergies our son has. My solution is to keep easy things like dumplings or spring rolls in the freezer for a quick allergy friendly option. So when we are craving take out I love to make our favorite drunken noodles with a side of air fryer frozen dumplings or frozen spring rolls.
Cooking potstickers in the air fryer is a great alternative to frying. It is faster, healthier, and a lot less messy.
For the best air fryer frozen potstickers cook the dumplings in a single layer and be careful not to over crowd the air fryer basket. Space allows for adequate air flow and maximum crunch!
The air fryer is the best way to get crispy dumplings at home. A light spray with a neutral cooking oil like avocado oil gives you a nice crispy wrapper. Skipping this step will lead to dry chewy dumplings instead of crispy delicious ones.
For best results do not thaw the potstickers ahead of time just toss them in the air fryer frozen. Air fryer potstickers are a quick easy appetizer or side dish that everyone will love.
Ingredients for Air Fryer Frozen Dumplings
Dumplings: Your favorite type of dumpling, potsticker, or gyoza. This recipe works with all different types of asian style dumplings. We have had success with all different brands and styles from the grocery store. Our favorite brand of dumplings is the Trader Joes pork gyoza.
Avocado oil: I like to use spray for this recipe but you can brush the oil on if you prefer. A little oil goes a long way fro getting the perfect crisp texture! I prefer a neutral oil with a high smoke point like avocado or vegetable oil but olive oil spray will work as well.
Dipping sauce: your favorite dipping sauce! Sweet chili sauce, hoisin sauce, soy ginger sauce, or simple soy sauce are all delicious!
Green onion: I like to garnish ours with thinly sliced green onion.

Tips for making Air Fryer Dumplings:
For best results do not defrost the frozen dumplings before air frying.
For nice crispy wonton wrappers do not over crowd the air fryer basket. This is so important because without the space for the hot air to flow your air fryer will not be able to give you the crisp you are looking for.
A tiny bit of oil will keep your air fry dumplings from being dry and chewy rather than crispy and delicious.
